MW3: $1 billion in 16 days

How fast did Modern Warfare 3 sell? Well, according to a press release from Activision this morning, it made $1 billion in 16 days, which is one day faster than it took Avatar to hit that milestone. The release also noted that Call of Duty Elite is up to 6 million users, 1 million of which are paid subscribers.

These games with the controllers and stuff — they’re catching on, huh?

    Yes, but there’s a reason (or many actually, but I’ll just mention this one) … Modern Warfare 3 is BETTER than Avatar. By about 5 thousand million miles…. double that for Avatar in 3D

    You know, I still have not seen the film. I heard it was very long, and of course I don’t enjoy 3D films because of my eyes so…I just sort of let it go. I don’t feel like I missed too much in terms of cultural relevance, though.

    I watched Avatar in 2D (not a 3D fan either). It is a long movie, but it is worth watching sometime.

    MW3 got to 1 billion 4 times faster than MW2 did, which it took MW2 64 days.

    There hasn’t been a COD game to make 2 billion in total revenue has there?

    I merely watched it in 2D – as you may have noticed the glasses, thus preventing 3D from working with my eyes… Though, on a tangent, I wonder if you can get prescription 3D glasses. Anyways. I digress. Special effects, good. Story line – nothing you haven’t seen in dozens of other  movies – very Romeo and Juliet. So don’t worry, the £££ (or $$$) you saved would be better spent else where … like .. on .. a monkey.
