You may have spotted some of the Spider-Man: Edge of Time PS3 & Xbox 360 pre-order bonus outfits in weeks past; now you get a good look at all them on video.

If you want the four Identity Crisis outfits, head to GameStop:

Decisions, decisions. You still have a little time to choose; the game ships October 4, 2011.

That pre-order thing begin to really piss me off. As usual, it’s US only (for a change) and even for you (US citizen :p) you have to choose between three pre-order. Excuse me, but that’s just stupid.

Maybe we will get it on DLC… Oh wait, remember MUA1&2…

As a fan of marvel, I’ve bought MUA 1&2. Didn’t get a chance to buy the DLC (now it’s over) Yay! A DLC with a time limit ! Great idea folks ! Then it was Shattered Dimension’s turn (by luck, I won a DLC code), and now this, 6 differents costumes that I’ll probably never get. Fact is, when I’ll preorder Edge of Time, it will be without any bonus… yeah, because I’m not in the US, so I’m not in Activision plans anyway…

Stop the DLC and other preorder bonus, just put it in the game. Whent Neversoft’s Spider-Man came out on Playstation, there was more than 15 costumes, already unlockable in the game. Is that to much to ask ? Don’t ask money for each movement of the character… So what next ? Pay $5 to access the option menu ?! Come on !

Anyway, still like you Dan, not your fault :p

They did it for Shattered Dimensions…and later put it out as paid DLC.
They did it for Transformers: War for Cybertron…and later put it out as paid DLC.
They did it for Blur…and it turned out everything was unlockable via gameplay anyway, plus a well-publicized cheat code.

I would unclench on this particular issue. The content always appears for everyone eventually.

Yeah I know, and that’s great… If I didn’t have to pay for it. I will preorder the game, will get nothing, and then have to pay for content. As a fan and geek, I absolutely want it, but come on… As I said, in 2001′s Spidey, Costumes were in the game and you had to unlock it. In fact it was like that until PSN/Live came. And now you have a game, can buy DLC that give you the impression of adding something to the game (that was in fact took off, for you to buy it later).

Why not unlock it from the start for pre order and make it unlockable (like your Blur exemple) insteed of make people pay for suits… I will tell my grand children “you know kids, there was a time, when a game was in production, developpers had to finish and polish everything before release. A time with no DLC and patches, you paid for what you get and not for what it will be if it’s fixed by the developpers team” (this is not totally true for PC games, a little bit though since PC game didn’t had as much patches).

You can defend that all the way you want, I believe that you’re a gamer, you’ve played Atari, Super nes and Playstation and I’m sure, deep down in your gamer’s heart you’re pissed off by all this like me :p

But I will not talk about this anymore since it’s endless :p

Anyway, Beenox is doing a good job with the Spider-Man licence. Hope this one is good, really love the suits and the effort to do them (full model, not just a texture replacment).

I don’t care enough to defend it, but I can explain it (everybody wants a competitive edge) and I do accept it. But no, I’m not pissed off about it. I don’t think it’s worth the energy. I get pissed off about racial slurs in gaming lobbies, homophobia, terrorism…arguably much more important things than the availability of Spider-Man’s neon costume…!

Speaking of which…did you just use a game from 10 years ago as your example of the way things ought to be? A time before Google, YouTube, and the iPod, let alone the iPhone?  The future is cool. Join us in it. :)

Playing with words. I was just using hyperbola ^^ Of course there is better things to fight for. In fact that doesn’t affect me that much, I was just pointing one stuff at a precise moment. For future stuff, I’m totally with you on that too. But, if something was better before, why do we want do step back and make things less good ? Internet, new economic way to distribute, etc… are no excuses for bad ideas, in fact it should be a booster for good ideas. Now we have DLC, Online Pass (for used game)… It’s like an answer to an never asked question. No we only find the good spirit in the indies (more or less, there is always exceptions).Anyway, once again, that’s not a big thing. Was just pointing a little thing (in a bigger whole) but that will not make me enjoy the game less if it’s good (or any other that come next).I’ve just make my number of comment here explode :p Nice though.

I’m not 100% sure if it was you or somebody from Beenox , but rumors were going around that if you have a saved game from Shattered Dimensions that it will unlock a bunch of suits as well.  True or am I just dreaming?

That is true — kinda slipped under the radar from SDCC. The suits from Shattered Dimensions will unlock in Edge of Time if you have a Shattered Dimensions save.
