Late last week, select members of the media and the COD community were sent Call of the Dead movie posters as a surprise promotion for Escalation, the second DLC pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops, which comes out on Xbox 360 May 3rd. It was a very stealthy surprise — even I didn’t know the poster existed until I saw some of the recipients talking about it on Twitter! Today the full image was released online, so if you’d like it as your desktop wallpaper, go ahead and download it from CallofDuty.com (just login with your forum password and you’re good to go). If you want more…if you’d like one of the rare physical posters…I have five to give away!
Wanna win one of the paper posters? Click through for to learn how to enter.
The 36″x24″ poster is very high quality — thick paper stock with a metallic finish and a spot varnish so the Call of the Dead logo is bright, shiny red. I know the phrase “suitable for framing” is something of a cliche, but this time it’s absolutely true. And yes, the little fold marks are intentional, even though the poster itself is clean and new.
These are rare and these are cool and these are going to go to five fans who earn ‘em. To win, you not only have to fill out all the usual contact and shipping info, but I’m going to run you through a little trivia gauntlet — match the quote to the Call of the Dead star. If you get them all correct, you’re in the running for a random draw to win one of the five posters. I’ll pick the winners at random this Friday, May 6, so get your entries in before the very end of Thursday, May 5, 11:59pm Pacific time. Full details about how this works, who is eligible, and all that stuff are in my Contest FAQ, so please give it a look.
Good luck!
UPDATE 5/6: Congrats to the winners!

Here are the quotes and who said them:
“In Europe, there’s no stigma about horror…it’s like rock and roll or rap, it’s a great American import.” — Robert Englund
“I always thought of the zombies as being about revolution, one generation consuming the next.” — George A. Romero
“I have done many different characters, but I usually get recognition for the darker stuff. I like to work, okay?” — Michael Rooker
“I’m always the one who gets killed. And I want it to be really gory. Body parts all over the place. Mangled!”– Sarah Michelle
Gellar
“I went to Paris, and there’s this big crowd at the airport. They know me from Baywatch.” — Danny Trejo
It’s worth noting that not everybody who entered got them right. And if your name came up but the answers were wrong, I chose someone else. I expected people would look them up online, but from the entries that didn’t win, it looks like some folks took their best guess, but unfortunately those guesses were not good enough. Better luck next time, though!
