You know all four of the worlds in Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions; now we know all four voice-actors as well.
Christopher Daniel Barnes is the gruff, weary Noir; Dan Gilvezan is the Spidey of the future, 2099; Josh Keaton is the spry, young Ultimate, and — as any fan of Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog or How I Met Your Mother will tell you — Neil Patrick Harris is Amazing. He’ll be playing the classic, witty Spider-Man that comic fans have come to love over the last 60 or 70 years. I’m really looking forward to hearing how each actor tackles a each very different Spidey. Plus, I am an unabashed NPH fanboy. Have you heard the guy sing Rent? He did it in L.A. It’s epic.
Plus, these four names aren’t the only ones you might recognize…
Additionally, Stan Lee will chime in as the game’s narrator, and composer Jim Dooley is handling the soundtrack. He has scored several hit games (Infamous, Jak & Daxter, Epic Mickey) and many movies and TV shows, including one of my favorite underappreciated TV shows, Pushing Daisies, for which he won an Emmy.
I remember asking everybody who the voice actors were many months ago, when the first trailer appeared. Some of you were right, or at least had the right actors but not the right roles – check the comments. Interestingly, NPH’s voice is in that trailer, albeit for just one phrase: “…not the only one.” Listen again!
Christopher Daniel Barnes spoke at WonderCon earlier this year, and both Dan Gilvezan and Josh Keaton will be on the SMSD panel today at San Diego Comic-Con. I’ll be there taking notes, Kat will be there taking photos, and Marvel will be liveblogging the whole affair. So there’s more info to come.
