Last week, I asked Xbox 360 Blur gamers to bring it. They brung it. Now I turn to you, the PlayStation 3 racing elite, and hereby challenge you — in a friendly way — to broughten your Blur skills in an open gameplay session. Actually, depending on where you live, TWO sessions — we’re finally taking this Playing With Swords thing international as I promised so long ago!

This Friday, June 4, I’m planning two Blur sessions on PlayStation 3. The first is timed for UK players — my Friday 10am is your Friday 6pm, and I’ll play for two hours. I’ve created an event on Facebook as a reminder.
Then later in the day, at 6pm California time (which is still a reasonable 9pm on the East Coast), I’ll jump on again to play with the North American PlayStation 3 folks. There’s a Facebook event for this session as well.
Of course, if you’re up early in the US or up late in the UK and want to come to the “other” session, feel free. But I wanted to create windows of time that were at least convenient for folks on different continents. And I will do more UK sessions going forward, on various different games.
As for Blur, I played a bit this weekend on both Ps3 and 360 and found a few nitwits here and there, but mostly my experience has been positive — there’s something about Blur that makes people happy even when they lose. You can wreck someone four times in a row and they will be frustrated but laugh and compliment you on a great shot — which is how I have always wanted gaming to be. And the one race I was in where one person was being obnoxious, the whole room muted him and reported him. Ken Burton would be proud. Any game with a community like that is a game I want to play online more often.
UPDATE: It’s today, so bumpity bump.
