I am happy to announce that I have 50 codes to give away for the Blur multiplayer beta on Xbox Live, which starts Monday, March 8. And I’m giving them all away today. Here’s how it’s gonna work.
I’m splitting them up into two chunks of 25 codes, and giving them away on Facebook and Twitter. You have two ways to win:
Facebook: There is a One Of Swords fan page. At some point today I will post a note there about Blur; the first 25 commenters on that post get keys. Simple-like. This feels like a good reward for those of you who have been supporting me over there for some time now, and I thank you for it! UPDATE: The 25 are claimed, I popped the question around lunchtime. Thanks!
Twitter: At some point today before 5pm PST, send a message out that says the following:
I wanna beat @OneOfSwords in the multiplayer beta for Blur! Gimme a code! #oneofswordsblur
I will randomly pick winners after 5pm from every message with that hashtag (so if you see it and want to just RT someone else’s that’s fine, you’re eligibile).
Also, I will have a few more beyond those 50 to give away on this week’s podcast, so if you write to or call the MegaMailbag Hotline Fun Zone and your letter is read on the air, you will get one automagically. If you have a burning question — and I cannot imagine what you would ever want to ask — this would be the time to ask it. Kat will be the co-host again this week, if you have any questions for her. If you are one of the winners, getting into the beta is a two-step process. First, you will receive a code from me that you must enter at the Blur website. Then the Bizarre Creations folks will send you an email with a standard Xbox Live code that you punch/type in to download the beta software on your 360. It won’t take long and you’ll have everything you need way before the green light flashes on March 8.
